I would like to welcome all of you to the Town of Searsport. If you are considering a Maine vacation, I encourage you to think about visiting one of our lovely bed and breakfasts. Many of them are elegant converted sea captain’s homes. If the bed and breakfast scene doesn’t suit you, we have two very nice motels in town. All of our lodgings are very comfortable with a number of modern amenities. If you’re a camper, we have one of the finest oceanfront camping facilities on the east coast at Searsport Shores Ocean Camping.

As a visitor to Searsport you will be surrounded by our rich nautical history. We are proud to be the home of both the Penobscot Marine Museum and the Searsport Historical Society Museum. We have a wonderful, picturesque, golf course only two miles from the center of town.

A visit would not be complete without a walk on the shores of Sears Island – one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast. See people down on the beach striper fishing and clamming, go ahead and join in. Searsport is strategically located within reasonable driving distances to Bar Harbor, Bangor, Camden, Rockland and our state capital in Augusta. Belfast, Stockton Springs, Fort Point Light House, The Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Fort Knox are just some of the attractions only minutes away.

Our quality of life and sense of place makes Maine and Searsport an excellent choice for a vacation in an authentic community.
